Get ready for a fast-paced and dynamic summer! Our participants come from all around the world, giving you the chance to work with exceptional young people and make a meaningful impact in their lives.
You’ll rotate between day and night shifts, with a balanced mix of responsibilities in both roles.
Here’s a breakdown of the core duties across shifts:
- Serve as a welcoming and supportive point of contact for participants in the houses
- Provide important information and prepare participants for their daily activities.
- Oversee the pastoral care and well-being of participants in the house
- Facilitate communication between program staff and participants, sharing key updates
- Offer engaging activities to build community, like games, movie nights, and talent shows
- Manage the check-in and check-out process for participants in the house
- Assist participants who are unwell or need to return to the house early
- Administer medication as needed according to participants' requirements
- Uphold our Safeguarding and Health & Safety policies, including fire safety and evacuation protocols
Previous experience in pastoral or residential settings, particularly with young people, is highly desirable. However, full training will be provided. What’s most important is your eagerness to learn, passion for helping young people achieve their potential, and readiness to work in outdoor environments, which can sometimes be physically demanding. Your role will be essential in creating a supportive household community.
Successful applicants will receive thorough training before the program begins, along with ongoing support, monitoring, and mentoring to help you grow in the role. Where possible, we aim to provide recognised qualifications for training.
During your time off, you’ll have scheduled access to college facilities, including the pool and gym, in line with our policies and operational guidelines.
Training will commence on Monday 14th July. Accommodation will be available from Sunday 13th July.
You will be required to leave your accommodation on Sunday 17th August unless otherwise agreed.
You must be available to work during these dates.
Completed application forms should be sent to recruitment@uwcatlantic.org by Sunday 9th February at Midnight.
Interviews will be held online on 17th and 18th February 2025
