Eva
Meet Eva, she’s a first year student from Wales.
"I’ve only been here a month and I already feel the lasting impact this place is having on me. This experience is so unique to anything else in the world.
I think the IB is a more well rounded form of education, it’s not just what we’re taught but how we’re taught, with a much more global perspective. This is reinforced by learning with people from so many different cultures, I’m learning so much from other people's perspectives
I have always thought of myself as an open minded person but coming here I’ve realised my perspective was actually quite narrow and very much a westernised perspective on the world.
I’m planning on getting involved with Hot To Go, the college’s social enterprise restaurant which has raised money for scholarships amongst other good causes. I believe if there is any way to help more students come here I think we should. I’m also helping to teach fellow students Welsh and I’m really looking forward to sharing my culture.
I wouldn't be at this college if it wasn’t for generous donors and an alum Glyn Roberts who left a legacy gift in their will. To have this experience, which is like no other, is something I’ll always hold close to my heart. It’s really lovely to know that people who have been students here care and believe in the mission so much that they’ve enabled me to come here, I’ll be forever grateful to them.”
